Shredder is out same day at Chessbase and Shredder
However For people who already have the Fritz 10 GUI is better to have an UCI engine ... (could use it in many GUI)
And I wanted to test Multi brain
Both are good anyway

You guys are so wrong, you guys released Zapchess when I was broke, now I have to buy this too. Oh well, say hello to my friend Master Card.

I'll ask shredder chess support, too, but I thought I'd ask here first.
Is there a trick to get Shredder to use his own book in the DF10 GUI?

When I used Shredder 10 under arena 1.1, I had to chose Shredder from its original folder because I couldnt find the bkt file for some reason. I am currently downloading the setup, I will answer you in few minutes, I am assuming that UCI engines work similarly under Fritz. For me Own book was on by default in Shredder 10.

Hello Eric
You have to convert the S11.bkt book to a small Pocketfritz book which then should be placed in the same folder as the engine. Have a look at the help file about "Book", "convert", "Pocket" or something similar.
I am not sure if you are happy with this solution as the book is not learning and ALL moves are integrated into that book. Of course it might happen that a d or e move is played in a server game! Overall the Shredder.bkt books are made for play vs humans and have a wide variaty of different openings.
Bye and have fun with Shredder 11

Yes, there is one. Unfortunately I do not have a Classic GUI at hand here but I can desribe the general concept.Erik Roggenburg wrote:I'll ask shredder chess support, too, but I thought I'd ask here first.
