Hi,
I created the new books for the free and commercial versions of Naum. They are based on the latest computer and human games.
You can download them at:

Re: New books for Naum available
Hi Alex,
A question regarding Naum's book learning:
I have enabled book learning for Naum for all versions
which I tested from 1.7 to 2.0. Naum's book learning
does not seem functioning.
Does Naum create another file, Naumbook.lrn,
like in the case of Spike, Spike.lrn, or stores
the info learned in Naumbook.bin, like in the
case of Crafty, in book.bin?
Neither happens in my tests.
TIA,

Re: New books for Naum available
Excerpt from Naum cfg file:
Well, then, second case.
The date and size of the book I am using
remains the same after test games.
I repeat my question.
Is Naum's book-learning ok?
TIA,
Code: Select all
# Set to 1 to enable book learning.
# Note that Naum saves learned info in the book file, so if
# you replace the book file, all the learned info will be lost.
# You should use a separate book file for blitz test tournaments,
# if you don't want less accurate blitz learned info to influence
# openings Naum plays under regular time controls.
LEARN = 1

I repeat my question.

Re: New books for Naum available
This is a good question.
I just checked my code and it seems that UCI book learning was never implemented. One more thing for my TODO list.
It should work fine if you use Naum as the Winboard engine. Note that Naum doesn't learn from games against humans, only computers.

Alex

That makes sense, nowadays...naum wrote: Note that Naum doesn't learn from games against humans
Thx for your books. I still like your 2.0 version.
