Chessmaster 11 -- FUBAR

GROAN!!!!!!!!!! Some time after purchasing chessmaster 10 I looged into their sever and -layed chess. Note that during the registration/sign up porcedure I gave them my e- mai address and they alos requested my birthdate. Only so much info will give out about myself! I gave them my e-mail but NOT my Birthdate. I entered a bougus birth date and saved it in my documents for future reference.. My computer goes bang and I have to reformatt hard drive. I loose the bogus Birthdate. I try to resolve issue by dealing with tech support at ubi home page. HAH!!! It is TOO fully automated! If I enter My email it says it wants my birthdate (which I no longer have due to formatting.) If I sign up for new accout it says it already has a user with the same E- mail account!! FASCINTING catch 22! Now if I buy chessmaster ELEVEN I most likely will NOT be able to register for chess server with my current E-mail account!! So... I no buy CM !! Alexsheeeesh!

you could get a second email address through one of the free servers.

I don't believe in giving out my birth date either.

So you are blaming them for everything even thought it's your fault that you tried to buy things with a bogus birthdate? Why didnt you make up a birthdate that you can remember? Like Charles suggested you could get another email address, get aol I say.

Point 1): I know It was my fault for screwing up my date. 2) I am NOT blaming anybody. 3) No I am NOT changing my E-mail for this reason---Sheeeeesh! 4) Note that I can not sign up for new user account as it says that it already has a user with that e-mail! (Why can't 2 people use the same e- mail if they have 2 cm programs? This aovids paying for two E-mail accounts as wife and I are on fixed income and note further that as I have said previously I reformatted my hard drive so all info is lost 5) I have screwed up passords etc. before AS HAS MANY PEOPLE HERE HAVE

) SHOULD be available. I have every vesrion of CM except 5500. It is a shame that the lineage stops now. Perhaps as I look at what I have just said I realize I AM blaming UBISOFT. Because some of the developers have posted there. However I don't really think Ubisoft listens to there customers,

as some of the bugs from CMX are still in CMXI.

It's funny to me how Chessbase, ChessAssistant, ICC, and even FICS can host 800+ games everyday. Yet Ubisoft /Chessmaster XI has problems hosting games with just 8 players online and ready to play.

On the UBI games where, there are no monthly fees you can create a new account with any gibberish email address. As long as you own a serial number. They won’t verify the email but you can’t get to your password if you lose it. That is about it.

So since you have a valid serial number for chessmaster, just create a new online profile.

With an email of for example ybuop78aa@nospam.com it should work

To me it looks as if you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Paying for email address, what a crock of crocodile dundee, you can get an aol account for free, so is the case with gmail, hotmail and yahoo. If you dont mind changing your date of birth, why not get a new email address that only takes a matter of seconds?
