Where did you hear that? Hiarcs is usually about a 40 point improvement or better from version to version.

Getting more exciting all the time.
I think that Rybka will probably make sure it stays at the top, but by how much, I don't know.
And who knows?!
So Fritz is already smelling the coffee, and Hiarcs has now got the message too!
The only problem left is which program should I stick with, being that I feel more comfortable if I stick to one program which has its head above the others.
But it's good that they are ALL much better than what was even only 3 years ago, so one can be confident that thte top 5 programs will be always offering moves which have great weight behind them (in a few months from now, at any rate).

Yes , when Rybka appears it push all other to work hard to chatch him, right now Rybka has a good gap, aprox. 100 elo over the closer engine, I think that at this step will be very dificult that some engine catch the fish, and for the next year Rybka will get grow more  probably it reach 3200 elo in 4CPU  the bad thing is that all the other programs are trying to emulate the game of Rybka, they, at least, are trying to be much less aggressive and they are becoming more solid (and boring) their games. And i´m not sure taht it is the right way... for me, Zappa is in the right way, became more agressive, try to explote the holes in the Rybka search. It´s a pity that Thomas has stop his work in Toga, this great program had the biggest chances to catch Rybka :?

May be this is applicable to Fritz and Hiarcs engines, but shredder11 is by far the best attacking version of the Shredder engines. And with my future released settings there will be more aggressive versions that plays fantastic attacking chess and interesting spectacular style of play. But still much work to beat Rybka with a confortable margin.

Whoever told you that Thomas stopped working on Toga.
Right now there is Toga MP playing on Playchess. By the looks of it, it looks like great improvement compared to the previoust Toga versions.
Of course this version is not yet released to the public, as it needs more testing.

That´s sound great, I played trough some few games of CEGT 40/120, less than 10 games yet, and Shredder did well but when but when check the final result Shredder 11 in 4CPU only get 1 win!!!! how it could be possible? yes, it run over a generic book but 1 win over 50.. :? I wonder, HADDAD what do you think about that the Shredder style are in comparison to the hyperaggressive style of Junior?... my english is very bad but I hope that you can understand what i want to say..
