He probably was talking about a knight or a bishop. Also it is possible that Belka takes the values in 1000's. 1000 for pawn, the one he mentioned for Knight/Bishop, 4500 for Rook, 9000 for queen etc. I dont know if that works for a chess program, but it is my best guess.

Instead of 100 (or 1) weight of a pawn in Belka (sort of measure, you know) is equal to 3399. Please, do not ask me why :)
take it easy :)

My new analyses with Belka 1.8.13 says "Belka = NO Rybka (Clone)"

New Version of Belka 1.8.13, here:

Hi Eduard,

Vas posted this on the Rybka forum a couple of days ago:
Strelka is obviously a Rybka 1.0 clone.

As I already explained before - the Rybka version which it clones is free anyway, so if somebody wants to use Strelka, be my guest. However, it's really kind of sad for computer chess and for the honest authors who developed weaker engines. And what I'm reading here, that Strelka/Belka is now being 'developed', is pathetic.

Harvey, correct me if im wrong. The whole Strelka issue is what it is: it just depends on who you ask right now. But for anyone to create a program or offshoot of one, and name it Belka- seems like just a slap in the face to anyone who seriously cares about computer chess.

Best,

Best,
My understanding is that the Belkas are just beta versions of a modified Strelka put together by the WildCat author.
I doubt there will be an actual final engine release called Belka. Probably just a new and improved Strelka.

Regards, Graham.

Graham is right. Belka was not supposed to be seen as a new engine. They are work, beta, developers versions of Strelka. Igor (WildCat) called it such a way just to differ his approach from Osipov's.
take it easy :)
