Rybka may be stronger but ....................Fritz 11

Post by bigo »

Rybka may be stronger but Fritz11 definetly has the better style, this can no doubt be discribed as GrandMasterly!! My opinion is that the new fritz is far better then any other version and difintely plays the best chess. The programmer deserves alot of credit. Fritz 11 handles the middlegame excellent and transfers from middle game to endgame with technique.
It would be nice to see this engine in a match with say Kamsky or Topalov, the former was handled easily by Fritz 8 bibao, Fritz 11 is far stronger in every aspect of the game. I feel that i can learn alot from fritz 11, not by playing it but watching it play other engines ,right now I'm watching it play Deep Hiarcs 11.1, it's a tactical slugfest but I'm sure fritz will come out on the winning end. :D

I like hearing reports about new programs, but you, sa many, do not say much in your profile. How do I know from how much knowledge you speak? If you are over 2000elo, I would be more interested than no indication. If you were 2500, I'd be even more interested. I am ALWAYS interested, but I'd also like to know how authoratative it is that you say that Fritz is better at every stage of game, etc and style and other comments. I am interested even if it is not authoratitive at all, but just a personal feeling of a beginner. So don't get me wrong.
Maybe I said it the wrong way, so I'm sorry, but I'm just showing how interested I am in the subject, and I'm interested to hear other opinions about Fritz 11 and hiarcs, too, and how many other people concur with you.
I mean, Is Fritz 11 REALLY a nice improvement on Fritz 10, and better than Hiarcs too?
What was with that recent test which showed Hiarcs beating Rybka without losing a game?

tools -> options -> engine -> UNCHECK "show plans"

or, you can just make sure you aren't using a newer fritz engine in 'infinite analysis' mode. i can say for sure that deep fritz 10 and fritz 11 engines both show the arrows. afaik, no other engine, chessbase or otherwise, shows the arrows.

I think that could be "expert", isn't it? And experts can write books. Depends WHICH expert. I'm probably over 2000 a long time already, but I don't really feel myself as always knowing what's going on when I read GM comments on games (until I figure out why, perhaps). But some 2000+s seem they DO.
Anyway, today we can also see from tests vs other programs. So maybe that can also show if FR11 is stronger than FR10 in various stages of game.
Well, I have an ancient book written by chess "expert" Gerold Abrahams. But today, even GM's are much easier to come across than experts used to be, maybe!

Odell,

I believe that you said that you are a masonry man. Rybka is more solid than Fritz 10 or 11. Rybka finds it easy to refute Fritz's attacks.

For you and me, Fritz 10, 11 and 12 will be the best programs to play against. Fritz has a more exciting style than Rybka 2.3.2.

Enjoy,

TJ

PS Keep up the good work. Stone walls are the only way to keep
chess programs at bay.

I STILL want to know WHAT on earth does the magic eye DO!!!! What is it's insidiuos, perfiidious purpose? Also how to disable the freakin thing----Makes me paranoid! Plus I am purist. I like my sets --uncluttered -- no robotic eyeball ! Also thanks for the info to get rid of the arrows. Reading the manual requires a microscope. I wish still it would have more FEATURES....Dang good program tho. Also on the play chess server I design my background with a plain background color of my choice then Whammo! Soon as I play a game it reverts to other back ground.....sheeeesh!
