BBChess 1.2a is weaker in my list than his predecessor 1.2... But what is made is made :)
I do not have lists but BBChess1.2a has an impressive result of 100% in WBEC

http://wbec-ridderkerk.nl/html/5thdiv.htm

25/25 in group C and 6/6 in the final.
Even Rybka cannot do more than 31/31 against the same opponents.

Although each engine only has approximately 100 games in CCRL 40/40, BBChess 1.2a is a lot stronger than BBChess 1.2 at this stage.

Thats lower division, Rybka can get 50/50 in that division where BBchess played, yes thats good results but you must take into account the time control, as Evgenii pointed out that he knew the latest version was not so good at blitz than its predecessor...and don't you think that some engines produce different results at blitz and longer time controls, there are countless number of engines I know are good at blitz and the ones that play weak at blitz etc I can recall Homer,Little Thought(older version),Ant,Tytan,Natwarlal,Zap chess etc do not play at their level when it comes to blitz...and average engines like Danasah,Hermann,BugChess,Ruffian,Delfi,RDChess play a lot more than their own level at blitz.

Hi Swami !

>average engines like Danasah,Hermann,BugChess,Ruffian,Delfi,RDChess play a lot more than their own level at blitz.

This does not seem true at least for BugChess2 if we look at the CCRL and compare 40/40 (2667 +- 37) and 40/4 (2646 +-1 7) ratings : BugChess2 seems better at longer time control at least in the CCRL conditions (engine own book disabled, tournament style time control).
If you have results showing the opposite with as many 40/40 games, i am interested, l did not get a cluster for christmas :D
Maybe the use of BugChess2's own book (probably not good at all) and different time control styles (tournament time control vs sudden death for instance) can change this tendency somewhat.

Cheers

Hi Francois,

I have noticed Bugchess(this version and one prior to it)play a lot better at blitz, far higher than its average ratings(CCRL ratings at longer time controls and relative to other opponents)...This edition plus the previous one shows the clear evidence that Bugchess is better at blitz relative to other opponents in the same league...it scored better than engines (which are rated higher in CCRL) like aristarch, hamsters, crafty, twisted logic, chiron, petir, sos, sloppy, jonny if 150 games of blitz are anything to go by.
