I'm aware of some more specialized program for solving mates etc. Like WinChloe for example. Do you have any idea if WinChloe for example is faster from Chest-UCI in finding mates?
Because i have seen some amazing time results by WinChloe in the past in some positions....
I don´t think that WinChloe has any chance against ChestUCI, and if you really have some positions with ´amazing time results by WinChloe´ I would be very interested to see them (and compare them with Chest´s solution times).

There´s only one matesolver which is in fact comparable with ChestUCI, and that is "Gustav". Although Gustav is a bit slower for most mate problems (since it doesn´t have so much solving options), there are some mate problems where Gustav is much faster (probably due to a completly different solving method).
But of course I still prefer ChestUCI, simply because it´s my baby ...

And for all other matesolvers: just forget them!

Actually I have done a lot of comparisons in mate solving. Chest is best in very long problems and with zugzwang-type positions. But nice thing with
playing programs is, that they search automatically for shortest mate (OK
some of them do that). 3 best free seems to be Fruit'05, Glaurung and bright - it's difficult to arrange them.

Let´s not forget TheKing! 8-)
For me TheKing is still one of the best (if not even the best) matefinder among all usual chess engines - at least for mates up to #12 or #15.
