Probably Anthony has done some improvements to play CCT 10 next week-end.
I couldn't find Zappa Zaragoza on Google.
Like he said, it is not yet released. It is still a private engine.

It is beta version of Zappa, and there are many more on Playchess.

Can anyone estimate how stronger is it compared with Zappa Mexico?

I find it very likely that Anthony is able to improve on Zappa by reading Strelka code. Zappa was already playing very strong and has phenomenal scaling. I know for a fact that if I overclock a system it will be able to crash a system where others are stable ... simply due to the fact that it seems to do more work. Rybka has a lot of things that make it unique in its strength and knowing the fact that Anthony is a gifted programmer I am sure he will glean out useful information from Rybka's code ... thus an improvement in Zappa is coming.

Absolutely. Look at what happened to Rybka (and other engines) thanks to Fruit (and other open-source engines). :D

I find it very likely that Anthony is able to improve on Zappa without needing to read Strelka code. So, if you see a huge jump in strength (like from Zanzibar to Mexico) do not just assume that it has just became "Zappaka", because I think that he doesn't need it.

Zappa's playing style is very distinct from Rybka's, and if you go and add Strelka code to Zappa, its playing style will change, as it will start doing some things like Rybka and their styles will get more near each other. I doubt that it's a compromise Anthony is willing to make.

I don't think there was a big ELO jump from Zanzibar to Mexico ... not at all. I also think that Rybka has a lot to offer all the top engines even if it is the beta code. A lot has happened since Rybka 1.0 and Rybka plays much better now. But Rybka 1.0 still can smack the best of them. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Zappa will improve due to the source code being available.

I believe that playing style is mainly result of evaluation
I see no reason to think that changing the search of zappa based on ideas from strelka is going to change the playing style of zappa.

According to CCRL, that 'huge' jump is 21 elo at 40/4 and 9 (!) at 40/40.
Then again, every little bit helps. And engines have been known to go backwards in strength.

Most likely he meant from Paderborn to Zanzibar.
