You should make some test against Rybka 2.3.2a. so we can see the results. Thanks.

At 40/40 time controls, Rybka 2.3.2a beat Zappa Mexico (this version's predecessor) 13.5 - 6.5 , using CCRL controls, 1 CPU and 32 bit versions. If this is what you are referring to- the jury is in. Oh- i forgot. Not enough games. My apologies

PS: If this version of Zappa is 10 points stronger than its predecessor, i will eat my keyboard, with mustard and ketchup of course

George,
At 3 to 5 min Blitz games ZappaMexicoII x64 is showing a significant improvement over earlier version. Early days yet and it may just be a "flash in the pan" but certainly some improvement indicated at faster time controls. It will be interesting to see the Test Houses results. Haven't had time to tie both my machines up yet doing full tests.

I downloaded again from the link and it says zappamexico again. Is that the new ZappamexicoII? Why have different engines with the same name? Why not call it zappamexicoII to avoid all this confusion. I think this will make all tests very confusing. Anyway I will try a match today with this new zappa download against Rybka at 16 0 on fast hardware (Quadcore 4.4 Ghz). This should be equivalent to maybe 30 0 on normal Quadcore.

Really ???? Then I must have the wrong link. But I checked the engine and it had "auto" on number of threads ... which was not available with the first version of Mexico. Maybe they changed it I will try again.

Never mind it seems now that they have corrected it. I downloaded it again and it says Mexico_II ... but I got a corrupt download and tried to download again and it says my limit is up ???? I think the 3 download limit should be 3 successful downloads not 3 tries. We have been having terrible internet problems here since 3 main fiber optic cables were cut by various ships anchoring and this causes downloads to get dropped. Anyway sent an email to shredder support hopefully they will sort it out. What I would like to know is that if my ongoing engine matches on 2 different overclocked Quads is valid. I have it from this morning's download before they put the "II" after the Mexico. I wonder if it is the same version?

Hi,
the new download has only changed the name as with the first download several users had problems to install the engine inside Shredder gui. Its the same engine
