Hi Wael
Do you happen to have an Arena .abk neutral book, with less halfmoves depth, says perhaps between 10 halfmoves to 16 halfmoves?
Another question, do you know what would be the proper settings to get completely random moves in such a book?
Regards
Dave

1.My iPapyrus is built up to 64 halfmoves, but you can limit the halfmoves depth to whatever number you like....My iPapyrus is limited to 32 halfmoves when used in my tournaments
2.Well,regarding the random issue,it's a little bit complicated, you see....when it's tuned using the priority sytem and number of games,as the situation in my opening book,it will avoid bad lines but on the other hand it will play a lot of optimized opening lines....in other words,it will be random more than enough, believe me
If you are interested,pm me and I'll send you the opening book, but you will have to limit it to 10 halfmoves and notice that the randomness factor will decrease in this case....

I'm looking for a random Arena book (or instructions on how to create it myself) that will be neutral, in other words, neither engine gets an unfair advantage from the book. And i don't want it to be very deep, as i say in my above message. Optimized opening lines would probably take away from the neutral factor, right?
I'll pm you regarding iPapyrus.

Re: Need your advice
I dont think Optimized opening book would take away the neutrality unless the optimization is geared towards a particular engine. From reading your book, I think that you might be looking for a draw book.David Dahlem wrote:Thanks WaelDr.Wael Deeb wrote:Hi Dave,David Dahlem wrote:Hi Wael

Yeah, a draw book, a book for testing engines, not testing the book.Tony Thomas wrote:I dont think Optimized opening book would take away the neutrality unless the optimization is geared towards a particular engine. Re: Need your advice
You can limit the halfmoves depth within the Arena Book menu:
go to Manage,Move Selection and there you'll see "Use book up to halfmove"and you can set whatever number you want....
I tried to sent you the opening book, but it seems that I am having problems with my Yahoo account,I'll try again later....
Don't worry, you'll get enough random opening lines.....

Maybe your can help me. I need 2000 or more games in pgn with drawn final positions on 9 -12 moves (with balanced material in finals positions, without dubles)
thanks,
