I really hope for a update to fix that!
Sounds like a bug indeed - somewhere.
The old Junior 10(.1) has no problems in that regard.

Why is that a bug? An easier explanation would be that it doesnt support multi pv as a UCI engine.

I agree
Hope all junior 10.1uci buyers get together
and "ask" ICC to deliver a patch to get multi pv!
If I had know about that I had never bought Junior uci!

I'm considering purchasing Junor 10.1 UCI. I have a question about using the engine on the second and third computers. At this site ...

http://www.chessclub.com/helpcenter/Dasher/Junior.htm

There is this text ...

"After your purchase is complete, Junior will be activated on your computer and you will be provided with a link to download and install the program. To install Junior on your second and third computer, visit the Install an additional license webpage. You can also visit this link if you need to re-install Junior on one of your 3 computers."

Does the second and third computers have to be connected to the internet to install Junior, or will it be possible to install the "additional licenses" on one computer and just copy the licenses and engine to the other computers, which are not connected to the internet?

David,

It isnn't clear, but it surely tells us that an aggresive anti-piracy scheme is used... like the one that was abandonned by the Hiarcs-team, or maybe closer, earlier Fruit... But soem kind of connection to the net would seem to be needed.

I followed the instructions for purchasing Junior on this page ...

http://www.chessclub.com/helpcenter/Dasher/Junior.htm

What's included with your purchase:

1. The most up-to-date version of Junior.
2. A specially tuned opening book for your version of Junior.
3. A new GM Junior personality in offline computer play.
4. The ability to install and use Junior on up to 3 of your computers.
5. The ability to use Junior in any UCI-compatible interface.

I purchased Junior only for "The ability to use Junior in any UCI-compatible interface." I received the download link for the Junior 10.1 installer file, ran it, and Junior was installed in the Dasher interface. But i can't find the engine anywhere on my hard drive, or info on how to use Junior in other interfaces. What am i missing? How do i use Junior in other interfaces such as Arena?

When i click the link to install an "additional license", I have to login to ICC, then get a page that says

"Requesting additional Junior licenses can only be done from within ICC Dasher 1.2 or higher. To download the latest version, visit: http://www.chessclub.com/helpcenter/int ... asher.html"

I already have Dasher 1.2.2 installed, and don't see any obvious way to request additional licenses. Someone please help dummy Dave. :-) :-)

David,

It nearly sounds incrediable... I haven't been through the process, can't guide you. I have the old Junior from CB. Anyway, did you look through the exe's? Maybe it's now included in the Dasher exe, who knows... Just a guess.

I don't think so. I never got an email confirming my purchase of Junior. Just a site with a very brief message saying Order ID: Junior-xx. I have no idea what to do with this order ID. :-)

This is the oddest software purchase i've ever made. Perhaps there will be a later email with a download link to the Junior engine i purchased. Who knows? You can be sure, i will get a refund if Junior doesn't play in other interfaces.

:x
