The main point here is that this was a match and certainly deserves to be ahead of single games like PConners v Maja!? this was a 6 game match, a quite a different proposition in those days.
I should alse add the game fragment played between Frank Poole and HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Although the game was chosen by Stanley Kubrick, it was author Arthur Clarke who promoted the idea to the masses of a computer's intelligence being demonstrated by playing chess. For many years, the scene in the movie was the only such exhibition seen by almost everyone.
Sadly, Arthur Clarke passed away earlier today at age ninety.

This game is not stored at the Paderborn site. I got it from Thomas (I may have had to resurrect it from a log or something, I don't remember for sure.).
At any rate, play it over and watch for the chills and spills. Danger at every turn.
