How much of a difference do they expect?? Of 2 Elo?? Hiarcs has a history of offering settings that are weird. Remember the days when Hypermodern wasnt the default?? Ray, I remember that you were doing a book test, how did that go??

Perhaps Hiarcs 12 is a big step forward and close to Rybka regarding playingstrength? I am looking forward to see some results from CEGT and CCRL.

Note that rybka was tested with 32 bits system so even this result suggest that hiarcs is still weaker than rybka(I did not expect something different).

Well only Mark and Harvey would know that, they have probably run hundreds of games. But Tom and I were concerned by the early fairly poor results we were getting with the default OFF setting, so decided we had better re-start the matches. Whether it makes any difference we won't know for quite a while. We'll finish testing with it ON, and then resume the previous matches for a bit and see what happens

Not me - Sedat did a lot of book testing

I guess that's because to be stronger than Rybka, HIARCS needed to have an ELO boost of more than 100 ELO and HIARCS's updates have never been as good.

Rybka gains well from 64bit, and if they are only equal on 32 bit, then there is no chance that Hiarcs could beat Rybka.

Hi,

Is it possible for the Hiarcs team to post the games of the Rybka match in this forum? As they tested against RybkaII.ctg I am curious how many Hiarcs wins were book wins :-).

Thanks, Jeroen
