Why such a nice engine is always ignored by all of us and there's almost no any records on the rating lists.
ChessMaster XI ( Grandmaster Edition ) is a nice GUI. The engine ( The King 3.50 ) is a good one ; but it cannot compete with Rybka,Hiarcs,Naum, Fritz,Shredder, Zappa Toga ,Fruit, Loop, Spike.........
The King 3.50 ( like 3.23,3.33......) was rated in CEGT, CCRL ( a lot of settings).
Chessmaster line of products was labeled long time ago as a "mass market" product. With that kiss of death, people here feel it does not fit to them to comment on such a program.
Of course if they were compelled to play CM 11 -or even CM4000- you can bet they would defeated to the last man, crushingly and without pity, but...it is still a "mass market" product.
Mass market = well done, with its own GUI, database, frills, charming graphics, etc
A "sin" for the pros....

Chessmaster is a great package with a strong and attractive engine. I have to say that though because I'm one of the Chessmaster fans!
If you take a look in the CCRL public forum, you'll see that settings testing is again in full swing to find out a couple of good CM11 settings to test for our 40/40 list.

Speak for yourself...4K and 5K were easy....even 9 and 10K weren't invincible to moi. I never played 11K..but phhhttt!
If you say so, I must believe you. But even then my argument keep its strength. Let us say that excepted you and perhaps someone else, CM4000 is more that a challenge to everyone here.
But...it's a mass market....etc...etc....

Fernando, just 2100
I will agree the average player here would be defeated by CM4K 95%+ on an old 486@66Mgh.
But there are players here who can draw and even beat from time to time the best engines on the fastest hardware, albiet there aren't many left and I can't revel in victories anywhere close to what I could in 1995.
I said Iron Man not Superman Regards,
Terry
P.S. 2100 is a strong expert and better than 95% of tournament players. The mean is ~ 1600. Hobby players the mean is ~ 1200.
