CEGT - Update Arpil 13, 2008

Hi all,

our rating lists are online and can be viewed – as usual – at the known links.

This week was a relatively quiet one.

40 / 20:
As one of our main 40/20-testers is on holiday, another one deleted more than half of his new games and some tournaments are close to being finished (but games are not yet in the list), we only had around 1000 new games this week with the main focus on Hiarcs 12 with 1 and 2 CPU and on Garbochess 2.10 x64

Hiarcs 12
Differences to relative predecessors now are as follows:

4CPU: +22, but only 175 games for Hiarcs 12 so far, rather unstable
2CPU: +49, stable, as both versions have much more than 1000 games now!
1CPU: +53, rather stable with error bars around +/- 25 points, so more games are needed

Blitz:
No update this week!

40 / 120:
No update this week!

Quad-List
Tendency for Hiarcs 12: no improvement insight so far after 321 games, though we play with the advised „sharpenPV“.

1+2 CPU-list
Fritz 11 won his first match vs. Ktulu 8 with a great margin (38,0:12,0) and a first performance of 2936 (not too bad at all for a „single-only” engine).
Test work proceeds slowly but surely!

Tendency for Hiarcs 12: no improvement insight so far after 321 games, though we play with the advised „sharpenPV“.

The Hiarcs team prefer SSDF 40/120 testing anyway, as it uses own book and learning. They won't be too upset about that

The Sharpen PV on setting appears to have little or no impact - it is roughly the same on our 40/40 list, at least so far. More games coming
