Battle of the Goths, final standings

Post by hgm »

As we could already see coming, Joker80 is the Battle of the Goths General 10x8 Champion of 2008! After having battled each other from 5 different 10x8 positions (Gothic, Bird, Capablanca, Embassy and Carrera), the final cross table is:

BigLion80 and ArcBishop are logically at bottom of table: they faced stronger opponents
I am satisfied with their performance.
Thanks for the tournament.

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

It seems the gap between your engines and the others is much smaller, though, at this long tme control than it was at, say 10'. It could of course also be that the BigLion80 upgrade you made during the tournament is much stronger; I did not test that version at other ime controls yet.

I guess I will close the viewing port to my Chess PC now, for some time, to run some bullet 8x8 tests.
