Well, i don't think it was easy to find out it should be a joke. I think nobody should do jokes about this topic, it's somewhat to dark in the history of computerches in general to do it.

Anyway, my first thought was that's real as well.

Let me explain it: It's like a story about a animal. The animal made bad experince with a group of people. Ok it seems they no longer flogged the animal, but always if the animal meets this peoples and it looks like one of them just start with the crap again, animal viewpoint, the old memories comes back to his mind. And in this case its difficult for the animal to detect if this guy just make fun or if there is a real attack planed.
