Re: Chessmaster Grandmaster version
I just wanted to throw my $.02 in here and say that I think CM9000 was the best in the Chessmaster series, and that it is my primary offline playing partner. I also like to fire up the Win98 machine and play CM5500, which I also really liked. CM11 has a great deal of potential, but it has so many game breaking bugs that it's just not worth using unless it gets a few more patches (which I highly doubt will happen). To me, the ratings calculation bug is unforgivable. It shouldn't have made it into the gold code in the first place and it should have been patched long ago.

Which ratings calculation bug is that? Is it online only?

The bug occurs in both online and offline play. There's been several threads on the CM fourms about this. Here is one of the more civil threads:JVMerlino wrote:Which ratings calculation bug is that? Is it online only?

Re: Chessmaster Grandmaster version
Interesting. I never heard about any rating problems with CM9, so I would have to assume that this issue is new.
I do recall, though, that I had some issues with getting the ratings correct after restarting an adjourned game, particularly if the player's rating had changed since the game was started. In all honesty, this might be related (at least the offline part of it).
