Leo is closing his engine news page :(

A sad news for me,it's one of the first pages to visit when I log to the internet....

It's the fault of someone else who copied his site. I wonder who it is..WBEC is the first site I visit to look for downloads..

Hi dr. Wael Deeb !

You are right ! But Leo closed not only Newspage & Lastupdates but also Engine-Info page !
Now WBEC is just a ghost of a big computer chess site. After www.uciengines.de we celebrate today a new death ! Maybe I'm wrong !

So sorry !

Yes.. the WBEC engine news were my major info page about new engine releases, as was uciengines.de's news page as long as it existed. I think uciengines.de was closed due to webhoster problems (long ago).

I don't understand why pages like WBEC are copied. What for? Does someone hope to generate Google Ads money with someone else's work?! I think the original URL will always get much more visitors and should also rank higher in search results.

It seems to me that the computer chess fan scene is on a decline. At least there are more and more signs "pointing downwards"...
Regards, Mike

I hope that we can convince Leo to change his mind. His latest updates page is visited by many of us on a daily basis and is one of the most useful computer chess pages available on the web.

Hi Ruxy,
The Engine-info page will be closed :!: :?:
Now this is a real disaster, now we must find a way to collect all the engines sites and host them somewhere so that we can check for a new releases as not all the engines authors make an announcement for new releases....

Don't know,it's a big tragedy for our community :?

It really is a disaster. It's the page I first visited and get me caught into chess programming. I visit it almost daily for engine updates and news.
