Well, this is directed to a different fora as the users are different and many CCC members aren't at RF and vice versa

Yes, this would be understandable if there were just a couple of threads, but there are no less than 8 on the front page right now exclusively about Rybka/Aquarium. There's no need to bring in more.

early impressions.
I love the ability to input an opening position directly in the gui in the engine matches. I think the interface is quite attractive.
I have my own opening test set in PGN, and did not see a place to direct aquarium to use it for the tournemant.
best

Yes, I sent an e-mail to support with the exact same suggestion. Right now the opening test set is only accepted in Engine-Engine matches, and only in EPD format. I have no doubt these features will be added in near future updates.ozziejoe wrote:early impressions.

it looks to me that there are not a massive number of features, but what features there are are very well implimented. This is probably the best way to go.....Start simple, test alot, and then gradually add features.

What's wrong with talking about Rybka and Aquarium here? It is a computer chess forum after all.Zach Wegner wrote:Shouldn't this whole thread be there?Ovyron wrote:You need to request such features at Rybka Forum.

Hell, who mentioned Rybka? I was just wanted to know what others thought about about the GUI and Engine matches. What that would have to do with the Rybka Forum beats me ...Graham Banks wrote:What's wrong with talking about Rybka and Aquarium here? Re: Aquarium and Engine Matches
I've pretty much given up on Aquarium. I have ChessBase, which is so superior in terms of ease of use for analysis, annotation, and search, that it isn't even close. Also, Aquarium outputs non-standard PGN for annotated games, which I've reported on their forum.
For engine matches, I mostly use Winboard, which is reliable and stable. I've also used Arena, although I don't use all its features. Its main advantage for me is that it can capture the evals from all engines.
