And now for something completely different.
I'm setting up chesstraining groups for our children. Below 10 ,11, 12 and 14 and looking for a naming.
I thought about animals from opening lines.
What would you suggest as groupnames ( growing in size ) ?
I like elephant and dragon, but I'm not sure wich is bigger.
Anyone for a size top 10 ?
Cheers,
Tony

Tony, may be you should use animals that are/were real. That way you wouldnt have any problems in comparing sizes. Also, do you have to use land animals? A blue whale weighs around 200 tons. If you dont want to use marine animals, I am pretty sure many of the kids like the T-rex and Velociraptor due to their publicity from Jurassic Park series. You could also try using gigantosaurus and spinosaurus.

I know the elephant opening and the sicilian dragon. The T rex line I'm unfamiliar with. Is that in the french ?Tony Thomas wrote:Tony, may be you should use animals that are/were real. Oops, I misread your message I guess..I thought that you wanted to give each group of kids a name based on their strength. Usually here in kindergardens each group is called cubs, bears, lions or something similar.Tony wrote:I know the elephant opening and the sicilian dragon. The T rex line I'm unfamiliar with.
