Hello,
the embedding into Arena-GUI (WB-protocol) of Petir 4.999999
causes no problems, but when you click on the Petir 4.999999*exe-file
I get a message: "Windows had detected a problem and must be ended"
I use XP SP3 (32-bit).
Who made similar experiences with that Petir4.999999*exe-file?
Best wishes,
Norbert

From the readme.txt file:
"Petir comes with neither GUI nor text interface (console mode) ,
so the ONLY way to play it is by using other GUI like
Arena or Winboard."

Petir works for me in Arena, but there are too many losses on time for my liking.Norbert Raimund Leisner wrote:Hello,

Expect time losses if you are using an incremental time control. Since Petir supports time controls such as 3 0 without a problem, I made an exception, and that's the time control I used.Graham Banks wrote:Petir works for me in Arena, but there are too many losses on time for my liking.Norbert Raimund Leisner wrote:Hello,

I don't use incremental time controls.Tony Thomas wrote:Expect time losses if you are using an incremental time control.
