Here you see the engines playing on a normal intel core2quad,
permanent brain on , each 1 core. Rybka and free-rybka
used opening book from arena (mainbook).

Now we all wait for the others to catch Free-rybka.
who will be the first competitor to beat version 2.2n ?

It's no doubt strong, but it is not unbeatable as some people seem to believe, I notice that it lost one game to Diep.

What's the rating of Diep in your tournament anyway? my guess is that it is around 2600 in normal ratings scale, around Crafty's strength.

yes , but i looked into this PGN and it seems dieps book brought the arena mainbook into a trap and therefore rybka engine could not do anything against the position that came on board when book was over.

of course diep has a good book because vincent knows some good lines from his own chess playing.

so this loss is more a book loss, because i played with arena mainbook instead of special rybka books.

Any chance of re-playing Rybka 3 with Jeroen Noomen's Rybka3.ctg or Compmaster Beta 2.0 book?

Unfortunately both are .ctg books. Unless there's a .ctg to .abk book converter. May be one of the excellent programmers who frequent this forum can write one in their spare time!

Till then, you can check out Sedat Canbaz's excellent site for more info on the best chess opening books - http://www.sedatchess.com/scct_opening_book.html

As per his site, Arena Book Winner: Spitaleri v31.abk
I did not find a download link for it though. :?

But, there seems to be only one Arena Book for download: Perfect 10.abk - Arena Opening Book (up to 20 moves) - http://www.sedatchess.com/Perfect_v10.rar

No programmer can write such an utility without having the source code of Arena and has the access to it's creating openiing book utility 8-)
