so you have added Gyula Horvath (Regency) and de Koinig(chess machine) to the list of programmers represented
sadly the Chess Machine is NOT a dedicated computer but a PC card
please remove this pretender(and the Psion as well) or i am sorry to say i must notify the Supreme Council Of Elders(Tournament Rules Department) at once and ask for them to disqualify the entire event
you could have easily chosen a REAL schachcomputer to get a de Koining program(Tasc R30,R40,Mephisto Montreux and Saitek Risc 2500)

Super Event Regards
Steve
ps...where is Donninger??

hi steve. you are absolutely right.
Chessmachine is no dedicated chess computer.
But it is from the hardware very close to the montreux or risc module from Tasc/H+G.

its nothing SPECIAL from the hardware.
I do not have a montreux/TASCR30 or R40.so i had no de koning program.
but a tournament without a dedicated machine of Johan is IMO no real good tournament.
so the compromise Chessmachine came in.
this makes johan participating in this tournament.

I also do not have a chrilly donninger dedicated chess computer. never saw anyone on ebay. therefore i could not let it participate.

Richard Lang is participating with the Psion ST emulation and MephiIIIS is participating as emulation too.

IMO this makes the tournament interesting.

what makes the tournament interesting is IMO that we have all programmers participating. that it is 40/120 and the machines play many games and that we can at any time integrate new machines into the field.

i hope you will forgive me that i let chessmachine and the emulators participate.

in the moment Chessmachine with The King 2.54 has to particpate Supermondial B.
Johan de Koning versus Frans Morsch. A dutch match.

What's the rating of SPARC in current computer chess engines rating scale?

of course i am joking about the use of the PC chess card for de Koinig
but for Lang you did not have to use Psion
i think you can choose 1000 different dedicated units for a sample of his program
:P

actually though..i think your tournament is making chess computer history because it does contain almost every dedicated engine author in history
i think the first tournament of its kind ever at 40/2??

History in the making regards

no i am missing donningers dedicated machine.
maybe it is to rare here.

but i am very happy that ron nelsons program is doing so well so far,and that the sparc is doing a nice tournament.

also nigel short is behaving well.
and mm5.

but ... it will take some time until all programs have 12 games played.

i guess the rating of the spracklen/kaplan program in the sparc hardware is maybe 2200.

there are stronger dedicated chess computers of course.

but i liked that this was the final development of a spracklen program.
so we have ron nelson (the first dedicated chess computer programmer) with his latest or strongest version in the tournament !
and we have the spracklens with their last and final baby in the tournament.

richard lang with his first and famous PSION ST for atari ST. but this time as emulation and with unlimited speed !

and nitsche+henne with emulation.

latest results in german:

http://schachcomputerwelt.foren-city.de ... orial.html

interesting surprise was that saitek sparc who made 11 from 11, was defeated in round 12 against the tuned chess challenger.
this machine was easily tuned with factor 2 from 12 to 24 mhz by exchanging the quarz.

there have been 2 new entrants in my dedicated chess computer tournament.

http://schachcomputerwelt.foren-city.de ... orial.html

Tiger Grenadier and
Mephisto Berlin.

this way the tournament has now all programmers involved with a participant.

Thanks to all people who made it possible that the tournament can continue now with even more interesting constellations.

I will do now a few games with Tiger Grenadier and Berlin to get them nearly to 12 played games.

Here again the list of participants:

i was asked about the tiger grenadier aka Millennium Genesis. the programmer of this dedicated chess computer is Chrilly Donninger, the programmer of NIMZO. The goal of the tournament is to have at least ONE computer from each programmer.

overall this is now realized.
