Deep Fritz 11 available early November

Post by ArmyBridge »

Hi Friends , it seem that will be a new number 2 :
http://www.chesscentral.com/Deep-Fritz- ... itz-11.htm

New in Deep Fritz 11
New, dramatically improved chess engine (about 80 Elo points stronger)
Upgraded database with over one million games, from 1625 to 2007
Improved openings book
New training function to practice the calculation of variations
New section on the chess server with tactical puzzle solving competitions; "the magic eye" which scans the 3D board, making the search visible for the user.

Dam it!! nothing about "New atractive play style " ... I mean Fritz 11 lost its killer instinct that made famous to Deep Fritz 10
Regards 8-)

If this is indeed an 80 point improvement from Fritz 11, then here is what we can expect..

According to CCRL 40/40

Deep Fritz 10.1 -----> 2990
Fritz 10 -----> 2885

Improvment from 4 CPU's 105 points..I am expecting these numbers to stay the same or improve..

Rating of Fritz 11 ----> 2963
Expected improvement of Deep Fritz 11 on single cpu = 80=2963+80 = 3043
Expected rating of DF 11 on a quad ---> 3043+ 105 ----> 3148

Not bad I say ....Closer than any engine has gotten so far to Fiska 3.

Or you add 80 to Deep Fritz 10's rating on 4CPU and you end with 3070.

That's not an improvement. If they simply added Mp capability to Fritz 11, it would be that strong.

Actually they simply copy & pasted the Fritz 11 information, compare and see:

All,

This link to Deep Fritz 11 is more informative than the Chessbase advert and states that :

" This is the multiprocessor version of Fritz 11. The program will run on a PC which has multiple processors / multiple cores, harnessing the machine's additional hardware to speed up the program's chess calculation. Running in an Intel Core 2 duo system, Deep Fritz 11 will calculate at roughly twice the rate of a single-processor system meaning it will evaluate twice as many positions as Fritz 11 does in the same amount of time or looking at it another way it will produce the same results but in half the time! This is a great help when analyzing large numbers of positions such as researching new moves in an opening variation or when analyzing a single position in detail which has a number of candidate moves. Deep Fritz 11 is at least 50 points stronger than its single-processor counterpart when run on the same hardware."
