New FICS/ICS-client for Windows Mobile devices

Post by Kai Skibbe »

Hi all,

the current beta of PocketGrandmaster is available from

http://www.pocketgrandmaster.com/english/dload2.html

The main new feature is support for FICS and ICS. Also, PocketGrandmaster
should now work with WVGA- and square-screen-devices.

If you have any questions, let us (info@pocketgrandmaster.com) know!

Have fun with the new version,
Frank and Kai

Thanks kai and frank - i'll give it a run now - i have been a long fan of PocketGrandmaster :D

edit

All seems well except - login to fics - i have an account but even with enable sip button activated (or deactivated) the keyboard will not stay up long enough to input my username\password - i can login as a guest - observe games works well - i have not tried to play online yet but to me layout seems good! :)

Hi Mark,

could you please uncheck the option "enable SIP button" in the options dialog? Are you now able to open the SIP?
If this still doesn´t work you should be able to enter name and password with copy & paste for a workaround. Which device and which os version do you use?

Best regards,
Kai

I think i spotted a small bug that was not there in 3.01

When you change engine its name is in the titlebar - when you exit pgm and restart the name of the engine is not in the titlebar - it just says 'PocketGrandmaster' - i think it is useful to know the currently activated engine in pgm.

@Bryan

Thanks for your kind words Bryan!

@Alex

not at the moment. The Fruit/Toga clones doesn´t seem to be a bigger improvement to 3.1.2SE and for a Rybka port you have to ask Vas.
