Re: Deep Fritz 11 is out
I thought it was "out" of a certain tournament, and unable to win.
But now that I open the link, I see it is a new program.
I'd be very interested to see how it does, even on a single proccessor.
I'd like to know if its playing strength is not too much below Rybka, that its other features make it REALLY WORTH 98 euros.
I mean, which program is the REAL candidate to be number 2 (if Rybka remains no.1)?
For that price, it needs strength as well. ie competitiveness against Rybka.
And regarding all other features, Is it no. 1 for features and chess experience enhancing (including entertaining and interactive, even on weak computer and even without internet) features?

Re: Deep Fritz 11 is out
Dear gents,
You'd think that for marketing purposes, ChessBase would pick a position where Deep Fritz 11 finds the best move as fast or faster than Rybka. But the evidence here shows that Rybka 3 is faster.
Surely, such positions exist...or do they?
All the best,
Steve

Re: Deep Fritz 11 is out
According to the article Deep Fritz 11 is not simply a multi-threaded version of Fritz 11, it claims that it has deeper chess knowledge. At CEGT blitz, DF11 on single CPU is 6 elo higher than Fritz 11.

Re: Deep Fritz 11 is out
It was known beforehand that the Deep Fritz engine is different and stronger than its non deep counterpart, however, I expected at least 30 elo of difference. If DF11 isn't reported to have a better playing style than F11 I'll better go with Sjeng 3WC or Naum 4.Leto wrote:At CEGT blitz, DF11 on single CPU is 6 elo higher than Fritz 11.
