configure: Makefile configuration program for Scid

This is the error I get each time I try to install Scid on Ubuntu. Can Anybody give me some help? Thanks a lot. Alfred

Scid has been already pre-packaged for download and installation.
system->administration->synaptic package manager
then seach scid, select scid and and then install it.
or you can directly type in the terminal
sudo apt-get install scid
And it will download it from the internet and install it. You need the root password in any case.

Problem solved. I received email from Mr. Pascal and he walked me through it. The Ubuntu package is an outdated version. Thanks a lot. Regards to all, Alfred
