So i will continue testing The King using 4 threads against mp engines

Best,
Sedat
I've played over 200 games at long time controls with The King and I've never noticed that it steals 1 cpu from the opponent....

I have tested The King 3.50 at 3 different Fritz benchmarks on my old AMD 4600 and noticed when TheKing engine uses 1 cpu does not affect the speed, there is just 1.5% influence

1.Fritz benchmark where TheKing uses 1 thread:

2.Fritz benchmark without TheKing:
http://sedatchess.com/fritzbench_noking.jpg

3.See the speed difference when TheKing 3.50 x64 t1 is really pondering:

I think after these benchmarks we can set the threads totally for using :) !

Hi Wael,
I played over 1000 games for CEGT and a had to learn that´s not sure to play eng - eng matches with the King t=2 and opponent too 2CPUs on a dual machine. Sometimes it works - sometimes not (depends on GUI and on the opponent)
I am sure I saw in some games inside taskmanager the opponent running only 50 % on my dual machine. So I decided to play such games only on the quad engine where opponent always had 2CPUs for sure...

happy testing

hello!
I bought CM11 1 years ago: there is a patch to run TheKing without the tedious procedure inbetween [s], like in the old versions theking3.23/3.33?

greetings, Ciro

Hi Werner,
You could be right regarding the GUI it's running under, but under the Arena GUI,I can asure you that the engine works just as it should be....
I suspect that your problems that happen from time to time in your tesing are related to the Wb2Uci adapter that you're using....I test The King 3.50 as a winboard engine,no adapters are involved,so this could be the key....
Happy testing for you too :D
Bye....

Hello Wael,Werner !

I have tested again The King 3.50 x 64 t2 but this time under Fritz GUI,where The King 3.50 x 64 t2(using 2cpu) engine when uses 1 cpu during opponent time also does not affect the speed, there was again approx. 1 % influence

1.The King 3.50 x 64 t2 during opponent time :
http://sedatchess.com/fritzbench_king1.jpg

Btw,its intreresting to note, the Fritz benchmark under Arena is scored with higher kns than under Fritz GUI:

1.Fritz Benchmark when Arena GUI is opened:
http://sedatchess.com/Fritzbench_ArenaGUI.jpg

2.Fritz Benchmark when Fritz GUI is opened:
http://sedatchess.com/Fritzbench_FritzGUI.jpg

In other words...TheKing 3.50's threads can be set to maximum

Regards,
Sedat
