QX9775 as quad ?
I think this processor is only as octa version available.
Hi,
It's a 45 nm,12 Mb L2 cache memory quad core processor,so when buying one processor you actualy get a quad machine :D
Congratulation!
Which speed?
3.2 GHz,and when the prices drop down I'll buy a second one and the octal machine is ready....
Then you need a skulltrail board.
Exactly....

Werner Schüle (CEGT) has kindly brought to my attention an Cyclone 3.0 endgame bug...we worked together this am to precisely identify it:

it can occur in particular endgame positions when utilizing 4 or more CPUs and the (EGBB) bitbases...cyclone will not move and lose on time.

until i have time to track it down and fix it, i recommend disabling bitbases (UCI options) when/if using 4 or more threads.

my guess is disabling the bitbases results in about -1 ELO...maybe.

(frankly, i'm pretty convinced they do not add strength at all...)
except maybe in ultra-fast games, they can help find the correct line instantly (if cached)...

but in normal chess, cyclone will find the mate without bitbases (anyway).

it wouldn't phase me at all to simply remove the code...(cyclone would probably be even faster!)...i have included them only because users seem to like it, and they can help in deep endgame analysis.

Here is a new logo for Cyclone. Enjoy! :-)

EDIT: I have forgotten the proper format for displaying an image directly, rather than just a link. Could someone refresh my memory?

When you post there are a number of buttons that can be used to start any of the common BBcode functions, like showing an image. While I don't find using the buttons very convenient, when I hover my mouse cursor over one of them is shows the format of the command.
