I guess they are both muuuuch too strong for me with Crafty. The only positive experience I had in chess was in 1988, with Chessmaster 2000 and DOS XT at 8 MHz, I was pretty happy every time I beat it as a youngsterSean Evans wrote:Here is another interesting one![]()

I guess your chess level is higher than mine, but beyond Chessmaster 3000 and 40 MHz you have to be a very strong player (Elo 2100-2300), I think, to beat it on regular basis on say half-an-hour time controls. In blitz it's even harder. Kai
Hello Robert, thank you for the tip. I popped the term 500mhz into their search engine and found this one:Robert Weck wrote:for a complete overview i recommend this site: www.umpcportal.com IMO it is by far the best site regarding UMPCs, MIDs and netbooks...best regards, Robert
Maybe a minimalist uMax engine, if you will put a Crafty on it I bet it will destroy you, if you are not an IM.Sean Evans wrote:

Of course you can compile Crafty 23.0 with -DSKILL option and then set skill=20 (or whatever level gives you a challenging game). This is set in the .craftyrc (or crafty.rc for Windoze users). Skill=5 is easy to beat if you are a 1500 level player. Skill=1 might lose a game to my dog so there is lots of room to experiment.Laskos wrote:Maybe a minimalist uMax engine, if you will put a Crafty on it I bet it will destroy you, if you are not an IM.Sean Evans wrote:
