If we're playing for fun and not driven by desire to win the game, then I don't think there's any need for special group of experts. I prefer playing for fun.
so you agree then to serve as the Alternate Captain?(assuming no one else comes forward to take on the responsibility of Captain or Alt Captain)
:P

Team taking Shape Regards
Steve
No, I decline this. I just wanted to remain a spectator. I've never had any experience in correspondence chess.

I agree with: "I was thinking that all of Swami's "chess ability" would help him do the job....."
i take that to mean you accept the Job as Alternate Captain

Thanks and Have A Nice Day Regards

Done!

So A Captain and Alternate are in place
when the Challenge comes in it will come as a new thread
at this point i will leave it to you two to reply to the Challenge and handle the teams affairs from this point forward
obviously both you and Chris need to be registered members in Hiarcs in order to post a move
when the time comes i will set up the current game position and move score in the Tournament and Match Forum and make it a sticky for the duration of the game... i will keep the diagram current as well as the move list
i suggest the voting thread and game discussion thread be set up in the CTF forum so as to prevent guests from coming here and copying analysis and posting it on Hiarcs...Rybka or any other place
my work is done here..

now i can return to my normal day job of forum moderation

Exhausted Regards
Steve

Not so fast Batman, the CCC (Chris's Chess Club) and CTF (Chris's Troll Forum) need a helper for the game.

You have been hired by the only vote that matters.

Thanks for your acceptance.

Well I hope people appreciate what they are getting themselves into here, it is a huge continuous effort for a month or more probably with no let-up to do this properly. Time differences with people from different parts of the world are a big problem too. If it can't be done properly it shouldn't be done at all. Good luck to those that take up the challenge.

of course i will always be in the background..criticizing your every decision
:P
let me suggest that the Voting Thread and Game Discussion thread be maintained in the CTF forum
this would be to prevent unregistered guests from copying analysis and posting it everywhere on the net
the actual game diagram and move list i will maintain in the Tournament and Match forum as a sticky

Pulled Right Back In Regards

It might be just the thing this place needs. It might concentrate the mind back on chess rather than elo.

Nothing ventured nothing gained regards
