I was there in person, and was basically liveblogging without a blog. :-). I will be attending the paper presentations on Monday also.
I think I accidentally skipped one of the contests in the finals/consolation section: there was a game where two players placed knights until one attacked another. I missed it, so I don't know if the players alternated moves or played simultaneously. My iPhone battery had run low: thanks to Nathan Sturtevant for lending me his charger.

Re: General Game Playing Competition
Sounds fun! I had hoped to go there, but my GGP project is very young (I've spent maybe a few weeks on it), and I didn't think I would be able to get it running stably before the competition. I guess I should've tried anyways--looks like I wouldn't have been alone! I'll definitely try and make it next year though, provided the contest is in the same hemisphere.Dave Gomboc wrote:I was there in person, and was basically liveblogging without a blog.. It's quite possible the game had moves made simultaneously. The game description language has all players moving simultaneously in each game, and for games such as chess the turn-taking is simulated by the side not to move only being able to make a null-move.
Thanks for the info though!
