I made copies on the ICGA tournament web site, if you don't mind:
http://www.grappa.univ-lille3.fr/icga/event.php?id=22
That server should have a lot more bandwidth.

Direct links:
http://www.grappa.univ-lille3.fr/icga/files/padb1.mp4
http://www.grappa.univ-lille3.fr/icga/files/padb2.mp4

The games of the second video are those of the last round:
http://www.grappa.univ-lille3.fr/icga/r ... =8&round=7
This may help you to identify programmers.

Hi Rémi,
great to get the videos from the icga tournament site. Thanks to Thorsten again for providing them!

Btw. seems the spelling of Jeff Mallett in Jeff Mallet misses a 't'.

Cheers,
Gerd

Probably most funny is 2nd movie where i guess it is Ingo Althofer who tells Stefan to not bite off his finger nails, meanwhile right from Stefan sits his wife and left of him Ossi Weiner, all of them busy with the game itself :)

Somewhere around 13:45 it is :)

"oh nicht mit dem fingernaegels" :)

Most voice is in German as Thorsten speaks basically German in the movie. Some parts he speaks English against non-German teams.

I should lose some weight!

Note i miss in the movie Alvaro Begue who was present that tournament,
AFAIK every round he sat there; only his comrade is sitting there when thorsten films the Ruy Lopez team for a short while.

Also didn't see Peter McKenzie (Lambchop) nor Ulf Lorenz (P.Conners) in the movie but i'll have another look, maybe they flash somewhere in the picture. Watch for the New Zealand flag :)

Gerd is really looking young in the movie!

I put it at my ftp server as cross posted in other forum here:

Thanks Thorsten:

ftp passive to 213.84.245.71

02-08-2009 02:02 198.639.308 padb1.mp4
02-08-2009 02:23 116.872.896 padb2.mp4
2 File(s) 315.512.204 bytes

p.s. it's read only. If you want to upload something let me know.

note that vista nowadays from dos command prompt no longer supports passive ftp (would be funny to hear how they managed THAT). exploder does and linux does by default and XP also does (but need to type pasv there).

Passive data ports used are 1024 and 1025 (if i remember well from head).

A good ftp client is for example filezilla client. Free open source, no spyware, works great.

Thank you very much Vincent for hosting these videos and offering your bandwidth so we can download them.

Thank you very much also to Thorsten for shooting them, digitizing them, and making them available.

I appreciate being able to go back in time and remember this nice event. I was really hot in Germany that year.
