I read that there is no pasting of code at all, just the use of ideas from Toga.Vinvin wrote:I read it's mainly togaII code + bitboard !
So, it should be a lot faster in 64 bits mode

... and now, from SourceForge, another Protector_1_2_8.zip with again the Windows/Linux/32-bit/64-bit files, but dated 08 and 09/10/2009, which seem to be identical to the ones from Protector_1_2_8.tar.gz, dated 04/10/2009 (I checked the Win32, using FileCompare)
Re: Fritz 12 keeps on loosing
The Sourceforge site is where the project is hosted.
So what you get from there is kind of "official".
What is the problem?

The problem is that I know of three protector_1_2_8_Win32.exe:Eizenhammer wrote:What is the problem?
one dated 04/10/2009
one dated 09/10/2009 (download given by Graham Banks in this thread)
one dated 08/10/2009 (SouthForge)
The first and the third are identical, but not with the 2nd.

When people test an engine, don't you think it is important that they know which engine compiled version they are testing?

Re: Fritz 12 keeps on loosing
The link I gave was a bugfixed compile from Raimund after I reported that Protector 1.2.8 would not load as a uci engine under Fritz, nor make a move under ChessGUI.ernest wrote:The problem is that I know of three protector_1_2_8_Win32.exe:Eizenhammer wrote:What is the problem?

The three compiles have no difference in playing strength.
Cheers,
Graham.
