Not getting at you personally Eduard as you're just the first to ask on this
occasion.
Must be really sickening to the program author though. You'd expect some praise
I would think for developing such a monster.

Indeed Alexander,

Now Doch x64 seems very strong for his first release...
If Don Dailey works a few months to improve and get Rybka strenght,
it will certainly be declared a clone by Vas

Is that a beautiful way of saying the evidence is rather thin and thus hard to formulate ?

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

I am sorry i came in late in the argument, but can somebody please present the evidence that it is a clone? Maybe i missed it in an earlier post?

I have consistently sided with moderators in the past and have been supportive of Vas and the work he's done with Rybka, but this current situation involving Robolito seems odd. I would think that if one was going to ban an engine from being tested or from being listed on talkchess, there would be a clear argument as to why it is a clone. All i've found on the web are arguments that it is not a clone.

A lot of people say that Vas said it´s a clone, but where they herad or read this I don´t know, so, for me Robbo must be tested in offcial way, why not? where are the arguments (like strelka case), that shows Robbo is a clone?, til now there´s no evidence, only the same thing again and aigain in every thread "Vas said that is a clone" :?

Well, I didn't even see him saying Ippolit is a clone. He said something about Rybka was decompiled by someone.

On the Rybka forum you find this:

Vas confirmed the engine is a clone of Rybka, the moved threads are being cleaned but please:
1. Don't mention the clone's name.
2. Don't link to places that mentions the clone's name.
3. Don't give clues about the clone's name (like saying "Rxxxx" or using similar words on the same context.)
4. Don't post pictures with the clone's name.
Thanks in advance.

So indeed a good question: Where did VR say Ippolit is a clone?

There is a big difference this time.
First of all, there is no genuinely named author (unsurprising that a thief doesn't want to give his real name though).
Secondly the Rybka author indicated early that the code posted was stolen code (nearly six months before any working compiles were put out).
When compiles are put out nearly six months after the code is published, they're horribly buggy. How can you program a 3000 elo engine, yet can't even program a time control?
I can assure you, the morons behind it are having a good laugh at the expense of those who've been sucked in.

It's amazing that you have such a large range of my quotes or posts from long ago at your fingertips and so readily. Who's been providing them for you?

Cheers,
Graham.
