I'll vote for Nd8. I can't see another move I would prefer, and we have to make a move... Maybe after that we advance the a and b pawns

I don't think that Ne6 achieves anything useful. I think that Be6 is better, transferring the bishop to the queenside to help neutralise the threats that include a4 followed by either Bb5 or b4-b5. Be6 could also help bolster our c6 square once the queen has moved from it.

In the case of Be6; Ng5 we play h6. Then if Nxe6, Nxe6 we can still defend against the queenside threats by putting the knight on c7.

If we play Ne6 in the current position, with the intention of putting it on c7, white's knight can hop into e5 with immunity.
With my suggested plan of Be6, I can't see the same problem happening.

My vote goes to Be6 for now.
