Hope this doesn't mean a big " ut-oh "

Like I said , if this is a clone of the clone , I'm sorry.......... at least I paid money for it..........
As I have explained in another thread, these positions only test move ordering. As such, they are not conclusive. They are very
suggestive. These results say that it might be a copy of Ippo/Robbo... and somebody needs to test that.

Based on what I read on the vendor's web page, he may not know if it is or isn't a clone. Should he be informed at this time? IDK. It is
too early to prove anything. If it is proven, then his programmer has much to answer for and he may have to refund the money to his customers.

This makes me wonder if the GUI needs inspecting. It looks a bit like another GUI.

The irony is that this may not be illegal. Robb/Ipp have a license? if it is public domain, they may not even need to provide source code like GPL. They provide a product that does what they say it should.

But.... if robbo copy something from any other engine X, now Tobbo can be sued for copying from engine X...

This is a sad soap opera.

RobboLito is released under GPL.
This means TobboLito-Tal should come with source code.

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

I looked over the versions of Ippo and Robbo that I have. They do NOT have any statement of licensing at all in the code.

I made the point yesterday in another thread that this "secret society" did not think things through. They have given everybody
free code to sale. What a slap in the face that is.

However, if they cloned then anybody cloning them has problems!

At least Norman's Robbos for Windows are GPL-ed.

I see that the TobyChess guy has just signed up here at talkchess, so it will be interesting to hear what he has to say.
