Doesn't look like 8.Qd2 is going to be outvoted, so that will be our move.

i thought i would just project ahead a bit while we wile away the Hrs waiting for DD's move..

IF DD plays 8..Bd7..we will run out of waiting moves and have to decide how to Castle

Suppose we Castle King Side and DD Castle's Queen side?
we have this position

this position i think is fairly good for us as i think our Queenside attack might break through faster then Blacks


Suppose we Castle King Side and Black follows suit..
we have this position..
[d] r4rk1/ppbb1ppp/2qpnn2/2p1p3/2P1P3/1P1PNN2/PB1QBPPP/R4RK1 w

not a bad position for us ..perhaps Nh4-f5 next

now lets try Queen Side Castling with Black King side
[d]r4rk1/ppbb1ppp/2qpnn2/2p1p3/2P1P3/1P1PNN2/PB1QBPPP/2KR3R w

i dont like this position at all..Black will come at us like there is no tomorrow
a nice position for a strong engine

Finally Queen side Castling for both sides

not too bad for us ..equal chances perhaps?

all in all ...if 8..Bd7..i think King Side Castling next is our best bet
i have not deeply analysed any of these positions so any comments from the players will be informative

now of course DD does not have to play 8..Bd7 next ..in which case i can always delete this meaningless post

actually Nick i might have to fill in for you at some point in the future so perhaps we should vote for this move


i guess we could also just play yet another waiting move IF DD plays 8..Bd7 but i was just fooling around with the idea of Castling straight away if it plays it

I would prefer King side castling. Good pawns still in place.
Good protection and solid in the middle.
