10.g3
to prevent 10..Nf4 which is troublesome for us i think
we would probably wind up losing the bishop pair or it could hinder Matthias's plan of planting a N on d5 which i think is a solid plan
while i hate to unnecessarily disturb the King Side pawn cover i dont see that it creates any real weakness for us and it does provide an escape square for our K
Depending on DD's reply..Matthias's plan of c4..Nd5 next..
Graham can you ask Ray to report DD's Eval of the position after its 10th move?
Thanks
Steve

Well I like the thought Nh4 in this position which can be followed with f4.. get some attacks going now that Black has also castled Kingside.

This is how we win. We play g3-f4-f5 and launch an attack. The key is that we have to avoid d5 from the opponent. Nh4 avoids that because after taking in d5, we can play Bf3 among other things.

Black will have complete control of the middle with 3 center
pawns with 2 knights attacking white queen side with the
B and Q helping to control the middle. We can't open up
white's King side. Got to attack on Blacks Q side.

Gerold.

What if after Nh4, black plays Nd4 followed by d5?

I'll looking at 10.Nh4 as well at this stage. Just looking at it further in light of the concerns expressed by Gerold and Carlos.

Carlos does have a point.
After 10.Nh4, Nd4; if we play 11.Bd1, Black could play Nxe4, giving up a knight for two pawns plus a bind on our game.
