could very well be the case, or it could be a scaling issue. in my testing so far igorrit is leading at long time control on 3 cores against R3.
it does seem that robbolito was the greatest accomplishment however (great to analyze on one core with another engine using other cores), though the new engines with MPV capability are interesting. i am testing firebird vs igorrit v9 32bit now in 1+1 games and will report if there is a substantial difference.
Very strong Igorrit v9!

Re: Very strong Igorrit v9!
this engine has not been released on the commie sites,so who the hell are you.
if you post results.i want to see all parameters, time controls, hardware, books used,64 or 32 and contempt if against Rybka 3 otherwise your results are meaningless to me.please dont post a lot of blitz rubbish.
with respect Paul

Re: Very strong Igorrit v9!
no idea what you're talking about or where the aggression is coming from, so i'll ignore it for now. the engine has been mentioned in two threads at this very board, and of course i will post specs of the long TC tournament if i finish it. in the meantime, i suggest some deep breaths on your part.
and yes, i am testing firebird 32 in bullet against igorrit to get a feel for its strength and similarities/dissimilarities. right now i feel it there is no significant difference in terms of style or strength.

Re: Very strong Igorrit v9!
hi paul -- it's available at the chesslogik site
http://www.chesslogik.com/FireBird.htm
apparently a 64 bit version is imminent. fwiw, atm the engine narrowly leads igorrit v9 32 bit +3 in 1min/1sec time control after 30-some games, so at very least it does not appear to be weaker. considering it supports mpv etc, it is a rather exciting development imo.

final 100 games, +22 =65 -13 result against igorritv9 32 bit.
am testing a bit more with the enhanced time management ticked to see if it makes any difference. longer time control testing would also be interesting. i believe i will use this for my long TC noomen suite games against rybka should it prove stable enough.

Two additional tests in the environment w32. Friz 11 Gui.
Quad 2,67 Mhz. Mem RAM 4 Gz.
All engines with book Paradigm.
10 minutes per game.
Ponder: Off.

2010-01-Firebird1.0 Gauntlet 2010
FireBird 1.0 beta w32 - Igorrit 0.086v8_w32 4.5 - 5.5 +2/=5/-3 45.00%
FireBird 1.0 beta w32 - IvanHoe v81 w32 (x4) 6.0 - 4.0 +2/=8/-0 60.00%
FireBird 1.0 beta w32 - Rybka 3 32-bit (x4) 6.0 - 4.0 +3/=6/-1 60.00%
Only a few comments:
1.- After some weeks testing the 'Ippolit' engines day and night, I have no doubt that Igorrit V9 (although it states V8) is the strongest engine of the world today.
2.- Extremely strong performance for FireBird 1.0 w32.
3.- More tests in 64w will follow.
Regards,
Tom.
