Jeremy is mod.

The other 2 are any 2 of Bob, Damir, Clare, Swami.
However, Bob may decline and Swami is silent, so I may run if Clare doesn't do it and Swami neither. I am counting on Damir.

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

I have just accepted my nomination, but nobody should vote for me if any of the teams above is available.

Matthias.
I believe you have better chance of getting elected than them so why would you rather that members vote for them?

You have my vote mainly for offering that unique feature of counting partial credit moves in ChessGUI ;-)
Hi Swami,
I don't want to be mod if there are other people to stop the CCC from being hijacked.
Any 3 candidates from our side can win. We need only 3, not 4, not 5.
Cheers,
Matthias.
of particular importance Matthias is the fact that you are the only actual Chess Engine Programmer to be running in the election
i think this will be very valuable to the new team
i recall that Zach and of Course Bob provided very important advise to their fellow team members whenever technical issues came up
of course it is not a requirement that an actual engine programor be a member of a mod team but it is a luxury to have one willing to stand for moderator

IMHO Regards

I realize that I am fairly new in this forum and therefore understandably I can have no influence in the outcome of the elections, but in the short time that I have been here I have come to enjoy and respect many of the posters who post here.

There are somethings that I consider to be a given in life which for lack of simpler words are fairness, tolerance and respect to other people. I struggle with public discussions on religion and politics, because these invariably always lead to war and death because at some point just to win your argument you end up becoming unfair towards someone else's opinion and your own bias ends being personal. Therefore you begin to disrespect the values of another person.

After reading the many personal attacks all aimed at breaking down another persons thoughts (Moderators publicly humiliating Moderators), people waving the wands of righteousness (after having publicly destroyed and humiliated any competition) and going to war because the other camp supposedly (no proof mind you) has weapons of mass destruction, I begin to wonder what possessed me to even join this Forum.

I know why I wanted to join this Forum. I know I love chess, chess computers, chess engines, chess games, chess discussions and perhaps I wanted to find a place where there are people with similar interest. Learn something, share some experience, openly debate interesting topics, fun stuff like this.

But instead, all I read here are topics about war and death..

I sincerely hope that the real chess enthusiasts the silent ones get what I am sure they all hope and wish for in this forthcoming election.

But, I keep looking at that Commercial Banner at the top of the screen and suspect you will not....

There has to be a better place somewhere on the internet for people who simply love chess and not politics and religion.....

Good luck with your nominated choice.

Best regards

Nick

Bob may decline? I don't think so. He may accept in the last minute. If he would decline, he would notify Admin about it which he usually does. He is inclined towards declining but that ain't final.

As for me, I doubt If I would get elected alongside other neutral members and also I doubt If I would have all that time for the mess. I have never been involved in the discussion about this and idea of it makes me cringe.

hmmm....it would be nice to think that there are other reasons to vote for someone than their position on this single topic. Its nice to have Mods that you trust to understand the issues, and are genuinely interested and involved in furthering computer chess development independent of whether I happen to agree with them on any single issue.

For example a team with Bob or Tord representing programmers, Graham representing testers, and Swami or Corbit representing test set dudes would be as good as any in my mind. The fact that there would likely be a lot of differences of opinion in that type of group may cause THEM headaches, but for me it would only add entertainment value :).

Hi,

I see so you support people calling other people who don't agree with him "dogs" Thanks for letting us know.

I prefer someone to take some action in such a case. You don't belong to those who would.

I don't know if you are talking to me or not, but either way, you should read this thread which addresses likely timing issues in Arena on Windows and a possible solution:

Yes, it is a correct interpretation. Let me read the following messages. I have declined my nomination, but it is not yet registered on the list.

Today, I sent two names to the administrator, Sam:

Damir Desevac
Clare Marie Benedicto.

A few moments ago I sent him another PM asking why your name is not on the nomination list.

Damir is there, but you are not. It is strange.

I hope we are not leading with a case of woman discrimination.
