Cutting Edge - Tournament started! (Long TC)

Post by Martin Thoresen »

Cutting Edge
Intel i920 Quad Core
Arena 2.0.1
1024mb hash each
3-4-5 piece nalimov tablebases
3-4-5 piece scorpio bitbases
3-4-5 piece shredderbases
Ponder off
HS-Book.abk (limited to 8 moves)
40 moves in 120 minutes, the next 20 moves in 60 minutes then 30 minutes for the rest of the game
Double round-robin (182 games)
The only single-core engine is Komodo, basically only because I want to see what it can do vs. the very best even with a disadvantage. The rest of the engines are running on the full power of the quad-core.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the tournament. I would have liked to see at least one of the Ippolit family against this strong competition.

My pronostic is:

1. Rybka
2. Stockfish
3. Naum

Best regards,
Carlos.

Scorpio 2.4 has been replaced by the newly released 2.5.
As Scorpio hasn't played any games yet it won't change anything.

Future engine updates won't be allowed after Round 2.

After careful consideration I have decided to remove Toga II and Loop. I had originally intended to play without them, but included them after all. The reason I am removing them again is that the game count will be so high if they are included. I'd rather start a new tournament with them included later on.
New pairings - Round 1:
Crafty 23.1 PS 64-bit t4 - Komodo 1.0 JA 64-bit
Thinker 5.4C Inert 64-bit t4 - Deep Junior 2010 64-bit t4
Deep Sjeng WC2008 64-bit t4 - Rybka 3 64-bit t4
Spark 0.3A 64-bit t4 - Deep Shredder 12 64-bit t4
Naum 4.1 64-bit t4 - Stockfish 1.6.3 JA 64-bit t4
Scorpio 2.5 JA 64-bit t4 - Zappa Mexico II 64-bit t4
