saw this posted at the infamous 'commie board'-- haven't invested much time yet but no engine i've tried solves it within 5 mins on my machine. looking forward to the heavy hitters having a go w/ assorted engines.

nice result...i keep reading that stockfish is great at 'best move' positions over longish thinks, but never think to try it as nothing about the engine has ever particularly stood out to me (other than it's remarkable elo of course).

erdo (or one of those guys) was saying that the latest stockfish will solve in 10-30 minutes (on big hardware) what rybka takes half a day to.

another good result from ivanhoe (default parameters) -- this one appears easier than andrew's, thankfully ;).

ah, thanks for the tip.

amazing result from pro deo -- btw, i am quite sure you can get that to work on your machine as i have before. it's a bit confusing & incosistent & i can't remember the details, but i'll give it another go & post how to do it here.

pro deo

Post by yanquis1972 »

hi anton -- just download pro deo 1.6 here -- http://www.top-5000.nl/

after unzipping load rebeluci.exe instead of prodeo. (don't change parameters when they pop up after create uci engine). everything working fine in f12 GUI for me.
