Final Standings

Post by Graham Banks »

18TH AMATEUR SERIES (Division 4)

AMD64x2 Dual Core
ChessGUI
128mb hash each
3-4-5 piece tablebases
Ponder off
HS-Large Remis.bk3 book
40 moves in 38 minutes repeating (adapted for the CCRL)
All engines 32-bit 1CPU
4 cycles 44 rounds
Due to some engines being ineligible for the next series unless new versions come out (including RomiChess from this division), the top three engines will likely gain automatic promotion and there will likely be no automatic relegation. The fate of the fourth top engine and the bottom engine (perhaps others also) are likely be determined by grading matches before the next series.
Final Standings

25.5 - Pupsi2 0.08
24.5 - Counter 1.1
24.5 - Gaviota 0.74.41
24.0 - GarboChess 2.20
24.0 - Daydreamer 1.61
23.0 - Xpdnt 091007
22.5 - Typhoon 1.00-358
22.0 - Umko 0.6
21.0 - Philou 3.0.0
18.5 - Delphil 2.6
18.5 - Matacz 1.4
16.0 - RomiChess P3k

Colors question:
The dark blue are Gold, Silver and Bronze. What is the light blue of GarboChess?
Matacz is in red. What does that stand for?

Dark blue = automatic promotion
Lighter blue = playoff match
Dark red = automatic relegation (none this time)
Lighter red = playoff

Because GarboChess and Daydreamer were tied, they will playoff first to determine which gets to play a promotion playoff match.
Likewise, because Delphil and Matacz were tied on points at the other end, they will playoff first to determine which plays a playoff match to avoid relegation.

Cheers,
Graham.

Hooray!! Gaviota overachieved and moved to the third division! and that is... supposed to be... good... OMG I better get Gaviota improved otherwise it will have its rear feathers kicked really bad in the next tournament.

When DanChess was classified as a clone of Crafty, it was because it cloned major parts of Crafty's evaluation, rewriting them to look different while remaining the same in function.
Umko 0.7 does not even bother to rewrite the borrowed chunks of the evaluation function of Fruit/Toga.

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Any further discussion on this issue should take place in the Engine Origins subforum.

Thanks Frank. :)

I'm testing amateur engines down to the 2000 elo level at present and enjoying it immensely.

Cheers,
Graham.
