Poll-Question to the Admin's of TalkChess ...

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hello Admins :-)

it's possible to start a very little poll.

Which operating system you are using for engines?

01. Windows w32
02. Windows x64
03. Combination Windows w32 and x64
04. Linux variants (like Ubuntu, others)
05. Mac OS
06. Combination w32 / Linux
07. Combination x64 / Linux
08. Combination w32 / Mac
09. Combination x64 / Mac
10. Combination Linux / Mac

I am sure from the computer chess engine "freaks" using so far not more as 40% Windows x64 operating systems.

In my chess club no one have an x64 system. After my knowledge in my IT job ... so far around 10% of users have interest on x64 systems.

Could be interesting at the moment.
Perhaps it's possible to start such a poll in TalkChess.
For sure, in better English :-)

Best

I started one. I think you could have too. No help from admins is needed.

I use them all. I have a Windows x64/Ubuntu dual boot system, a Windows XP 32 system, and a MacBook with OSx Leopard. My program supports all of these OSs. But my main dev/test environment is currently still Windows x32.

I second that - Windows 7 x64 is sweet and juicy. Tastes great, less filling. Happy face and all that.
