i dont like crazy forums with real names. you dont know if all the names here are real .

lands of lore 3 is a nazi game:)

i can not find this variant in any database.
i played it as black in a rapid game, the position is draw.

Being a 1.b3 afficionado I must assert that 1.b3 e5 2B-b2 is not nescessarily the best move here. In other words your engine(s) may indeed be correct in playing 2. p-e3. I could get extensive here... However on a brief note let me say that (among other issues) the Bishop in many of the closed variations of larsen's Opening that the Bishop often moves from B2 back to C1 as a redeployment. Ergo a certain amount of flexibility is afforded in regard to one's playing styles and committments. Note also that White eventually plays p-e3 on numerous variations of the system. May I also say that although the success statistics are not as good as 1.e4 etc. comparatively speaking, I would assert there are several mitigating circumstances/variables for the results of 1.b3. Happy to discuss if interested.
