Thanks. This game was played on my 2GHz Core 2 Duo MacBook. So just two threads. And I should add that when Stockfish (or the GUI) resigned I had about 45 seconds remaining, compared to about 90 seconds for the engine.yanquis1972 wrote:some rybka aquarium analysis --

was stockfish using all 8 cores?? that would be incredibly impressive.
and congratulations! it is quite thrilling when chance hands you these lucky hands against the silicon monsters. i beat hiarcs 12 once in a fast TC game and still have found memories. i fear the next generation will not be so vulnerable to KS pawn marches.

Re: I beat Stockfish!
This is not about pawn storms. This is about Bishop activity (Be3) and color square management. Generally, engines have problem with these positions, which require a delicate (long term) positional understanding.zamar wrote:Congrats Louis!
You found Stockfish's weak point and hit it with full strength
Stockfish has no understanding of pawn storms when both kings are castled on king side. Usually deep search rescues it from trouble, but not at this time. Problems were behind horizon.

Very nice game! I enjoyed it, and I know how you feel. A win every once and a while sure feels good. Well done!
