Even Shredder 12 does not see it.

Post by AdminX »

Topalov should not feel to bad even poor Shredder 12 (2 Cores) falls for it. Hoping Shredder 13 gets better in tactical vision.

It is the weakest Topal move, however, even with Nc5 or better f6, it would be difficult to defend after Rc4 and eventually e5, but anyway playing this "waiting" rook move hurt him immediately.

If you look at the analysis closer, you will see that the move popped out at 3 mins, and the engine is now taking 20 minutes (very long) to complete the next ply. If you look at the variation, you'll see its playing Nf6+, which also wins (just not as fast).

I did look at it. Over 20 minutes is to long for a engine of Shredder's class. Just my 2 cents. I see it's okay for you!

Individual positions don't mean anything so I don't care for them. You will always find some where an engine does great and others where it sucks.

It just wanted to point out that by looking at what the engine is analyzing you can learn a lot about the position. So here, even though it has not posted a new score yet, you can see that Nf6+ can upset things and that you can analyze it further.

Any chance for a new Sjeng soon? I just got my tax refund :)
